University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Deputy Director (Timetabling & Operations)

Your Responsibility

Your key responsibilities include:

The main objective of this role is to provide the leadership and management to the Timetabling & Operations function within the Academic Services Office. This role will ensure that the enhancement of timetabling, examinations and curriculum services to students and staff, and the delivery of high quality business operations are in place and operating efficiently. This role will oversee and bridge connections between different functions, manage resource allocation, facilitate departmental communications, coordinate projects and events from an integrated level for better synergy.

The role holder will lead the Timetabling & Operations team to

  • Contribute timetabling and examination expertise insights, and understanding of requirements to the establishment of a global timetabling system and examination platform to enhance the student experience in their learning journey.
  • Streamline the programme/module data management with local government teaching awards & projects application and coordination.
  • Enhance departmental operations in strategic planning, communication & engagement, event management, reporting and project liaison for better service delivery to students and staff.
  • Oversee the timetabling, examinations, curriculum and departmental business operations to integrate cross-functional resources and improve work efficiency.
  • Plan and develop academic regulation training and promotion.

About You

  • Master’s degree
  • Qualifications and training in data analysis, project management and leadership.
  • At least 8 years work experience in HE related sector;
  • Proven expertise in managing projects, people and resources;
  • A high degree of initiative, ownership and self-motivation with a professional and proactive approach to problem solving;
  • In-depth knowledge of systems/services for key functional areas and regulations;
  • Demonstratable leadership in managing and developing staff, establishing new administrative systems or procedures, and managing resources;
  • Broad awareness and understanding of the University’s activities and objectives;
  • Experience of designing and delivering of service to students and staff.
  • Business planning skills underpinned by operational management skills;
  • Proven people and change management skills;
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strong ability to work effectively and collaboratively with staff at all levels;
  • Strong ability to motivate, negotiate and influence both individuals and teams;
  • Proven advanced analytical and problem-solving capability;
  • Excellent IT skills including the use of tools and technologies appropriate to the role.
  • Knowledge of government regulations relating to higher education in China.
