University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit an Assistant Research Fellow

Your Responsibility

Your key responsibilities include:

  • To undertake supervised research which may include conducting literature reviews, supporting laboratory works, analyzing data, generating reports; and support drafting research reports and papers with academics for publications, translating research proposals for international academics for bidding for various domestic funding schemes, and etc.
  • To support the research activities and events, such as international conferences, research seminars, public lectures, workshops, etc. organized by the Faculty, Research Groups and Research Centres, and support the external engagement with relevant stakeholders and developing the potential research collaborations.
  • To support the data analysis and management in terms of research performance of the Faculty, Research Groups, Departments and individual academics.
  • To provide the support in managing the whole lifecycle of various research projects, e.g. assisting in preparing the research proposals and funding application documents, supporting the interim reviews and closure processes, etc.
  • To support the administrative work for academics in the Research Groups and Research Centres, and to support the operational work for the Research Groups and Research Centres.
  • To support the construction of major research platforms, including key disciplines, key labs, etc.
  • To participate in training and staff development events as trainer or trainee as appropriate.
  • To maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness.
  • To undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in science and engineering disciplines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis and management.
  • Developing research skills.
  • Ability to contribute to method improvement.
  • Analytical ability to facilitate conceptual thinking, innovation and creativity.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with others, internally and externally.
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Evidence of sufficient breadth or depth of research methodologies and techniques to work in research area.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be part of a team.
