University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit for the position of Deputy Director for Planning and Operations in Department of Strategic Development of Health Science and Technology.

 

Your Responsibility 

Your key responsibilities include:

  • To work with the Director of Strategic Development in Health Science and Technology and other senior leaders in the university to explore the strategic initiative for health science and technology in accordance with the University strategy and implementation plans.
  • Lead in the interpretation of up-to-date Chinese policies and practices related to heath science and technology, managing the changes and act as in a main advisory role.
  • Support the review the existing research, teaching and external engagement activities/programmes related to health science and technology in the university and give advice about how to achieve excellence in research and teaching in related areas.
  • Provide strategic support to the planning and organizing of a variety of physical and financial resources for strategic functions/projects managed by the Director of Strategic Development in Health Science and Technology.
  • To lead in the government relationship development and management with support from leaders in the Centre of Life Science and Health Care and other university senior leaders including the Provost, VPs, Chief Financial and Planning Officer, Director of Development, etc.
  • To coordinate the approval process for the new teaching programme related to health science and technology with supervision from Director of Strategic Development in Health Science and Technology, and working with relevant professional service office, e.g. the Academic Service Office, the Strategic Planning Office, etc.
  • To set up official communication channel and models for the tri-campus collaboration. and to support the review of research and teaching activities in Nottingham University UK and Malaysia campuses and advise on potential collaborative opportunities related to health science and technology
  • To undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required

About You

We are looking for a strong candidate with

  • Strategic operational planning, management and business process skills. 
  • Proven people and change management skills.  
  • Experience of managing and developing a significant team or number of teams and/or a significant project or number of projects.  
  • Experience of managing and controlling budgets/resources/funding and an understanding of financial management procedures.  
  • Widespread awareness and understanding of the activities and objectives of the University, both current and future.  
  • Experience of UK higher education and comprehensive understanding of UK’s strengths on research and education related to health science and technology.
  • Experience of managing a significant number of Sino-UK healthcare collaborative projects.
  • Highly developed knowledge of health data, clinic guidelines and health technologies.
  • Experience in working with stakeholders in the Chinese hospital system, healthcare education and research landscape
