University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit an Officer, Academic Affairs (Student Conduct)

Your Responsibilities

The purpose of the role is to lead and support the function team of the Academic Services Office, providing administrative support and procedural advice for student conduct processes.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the full University Academic Appeals processes from advising on procedures, initial review of cases, liaison with Faculty/School/Department, process management and administrative support for cases moving forward and supporting further internal/external review of cases;
  • Manage the Academic Misconduct procedures by providing procedural advice for students/schools, reviewing the referral requests from students/schools, providing administrative support for the University Academic Misconduct Committee hearings;
  • Manage the Student Complaint procedures by advising on procedures, supporting the formal stages of complaint and process management throughout the student complaint processes;
  • Assess training demands from faculty/school for student conduct processes, maintain and update internal guidance for key stakeholders;
  • Liaise with UK and Malaysia campuses for student conduct issues and practices;
  • Monitor student conduct data and provide data and information to University committee/faculty/school and local authority where necessary;
  • Manage the function team by supervising and supporting the development of team members, ensuring that individual contributions are maximised.

About You

Essential

  • Master’s Degree;
  • Minimum two-year work experience. At least one-year experience of working in international setting and/ or education organisation;
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels with strong oral and written skills in both Mandarin and English;
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Publisher;
  • Advanced skills in data visualization;
  • Proven planning and organizing skills;
  • Proven multi-tasking and time management skills;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Awareness of legislation in relation to issues of data protection and equality and diversity;
  • Experience of planning and progressing a series of operational work within general guidelines, using initiative and judgement without recourse to seniors. 

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of the work and activities of other areas of the University relevant to the functionalities of the office; 
  • Understanding of University Regulatory Framework;
  • Growing awareness of higher education settings in China and UK;
  • Experience of customer service.
