How we hire

Make your application online

Please note that only on-line applications made at (http://jobs.nottingham.edu.cn) will be accepted. Our role profiles are designed to give you as much information as possible for you to decide if the role is right one for you.

Shortlisting

Normally the shortlisting will be completed two weeks after the job posting has closed.

Selection

Normally the interview will be arranged after at least one week (for non-academic positions) or four weeks (for academic positions) after the completion of shortlisting. If you do not receive an interview invitation after this time, you may presume that your application was not shortlisted successfully.

FAQs

Once you have submitted your application form online you cannot change your application details. If you have difficulties in submitting your application online, please liaise with job@nottingham.edu.cn before the closing date.

For every application you are required to follow the application guidance in the specific job advert to submit your application with required supporting documents.

You will receive an email to confirm your application online after submission.

All formal notifications including shortlisting and interview result will be sent via emails. If you have not heard from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China within six weeks of the closing date you should assume your application has been unsuccessful.

If you have forgotten your password you may reset by following the "forget password" procedure on login page. Simply follow these easy steps:

  • Click the "forget password" link.
  • Enter your email address and click continue, you will then be emailed a link to continue to reset your password.
Once you have completed the process and successfully reset your password you may login using your email address and your new password. To protect your account, follow these guidelines:
  • If using a public computer (such as in a library or Internet café) always log out when you’ve finished using the site
  • Keep your passwords to yourself and try not to write it down ─ anyone who knows your password can access your account
  • Do not use dictionary words, your name, your partner’s name, your email address or other personal information that can be easily obtained
  • Change your password frequently
  • Avoid using the same password for accounts on different websites

In order to access your online account you need to supply your email address and password so that the system can authenticate and confirm you are who you say you are and that you have access to the details you will be trying to retrieve. Therefore, your email address and password must exactly match the information we have held in our system. The most common reasons for not being able to login are because you have either entered your email address, password or both incorrectly. Check to make sure that the information you supplied is correct and remember that the passwords are case sensitive. If you know that your email address is correct and you simply can't remember your password, you may follow the procedure for resetting your password.

We use a server certificate (also known as a digital certificate) to assure you of our identity and secure sockets layer (SSL) to encrypt data transmissions.

If you are experiencing this problem, please check to make sure that cookies are enabled on your browser. If you are sure that cookies are enabled then check to make sure the system date is set correctly on your computer. It has been noticed that an incorrectly set system date can cause problems with cookies and can also be the cause of this behaviour.
