University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Faculty Administrator in Faculty Office of Humanities and Social Science.

Your Responsibility

Your key responsibilities include:

  • To plan and organise own/team activities and meet deadlines and expectations
  • To coordinate relevant School/Faculty projects and/or development activities
  • To communicate and build working relationships with key contacts from other units, as well as external bodies, and ensure an appropriate flow of information 
  • To arrange School staff meetings, as well as corresponding committee meetings at all levels, take minutes and take actions when necessary
  • To receive and answer relevant queries from students and staff in a proper manner with accuracy
  • To record student applications, e.g. absence, EC, course transfer and suspension, and deal with follow-ups
  • To collect and deliver programme/module information and maintain students’ data and module selection
  • To set up SET (Student Evaluation of Tutor) and SEM (Student Evaluation of Module) surveys as appropriate
  • To keep all programme and module specifications being up to date and ensure all information published is accurate as required
  • To coordinate and review the revision of policies and practices and ensure implementation of any changes
  • To collect information and assist in applications for prizes and awards (module/programme/School)
  • To advise on and propose changes in procedures, plans, priorities and office systems to improve operational efficiency and quality of services
  • To participate in trainings and staff development activities, as trainer or trainee as appropriate
  • To develop and foster relevant expertise and awareness  
  • To analyse and supply data/statistics as requested and highlight any issues for further investigation to support informed decision making
  • To work on rotation and support other teams where necessary
  • To participate in training and staff development events as trainer or trainee as appropriate
  • To maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness 
  • To undertake other tasks and responsivities as may reasonably be required

About You

Essential

  • Master’s degree
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Proven IT skills, including using MS Office applications and database systems
  • Analysis & problem solving capability
  • Planning and organisational skills, particularly workflow management 
  • Experience of working/responding independently and dealing with unforeseen problems and circumstances
  • Experience of working in a large complex, devolved organisation
  • Proven track record of successful project management
  • Experience of managing a diverse workload and relationships
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise multiple tasks

Desirable

  • Overseas study experience 
  • Knowledge of university regulations and systems 
  • Experience of working in an international setting and/or education organisation
