University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Research Fellow in Chemical Engineering (OUTSOURCED) in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering.

Your Responsibility

The purpose of this role will be to assist and support the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering in carrying out academic research which include literature searches, developing questionnaires, conducting surveys, carrying out analyses and tests and drafting of reports.

  • To undertake supervised research which may include planning, preparing, setting up, conducting and recording the outcome of experiments and fieldwork in the following field:
  1. Green chemical;
  2. low-carbon energy;
  3. Environmental remediation and waste treatment
  • To conduct literature and database searches and carry out analyses and/or tests and/or critical evaluations using specified and agreed techniques, approaches and/or models and document findings.
  • To contribute to the production of research reports and publications
  • To continue to develop skills in and knowledge of research methods and techniques and contribute to the development polymer processing.
  • To communicate information and ideas to students and advise and assist other staff/students with in area of expertise.
  • To participate in training and staff development events as trainer or trainee as appropriate.
  • To maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness.
  • To undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.

About You

Candidates must have a PhD degree in a relevant engineering discipline, preferable in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering. Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Chinese, and high analytical ability to analyse and illuminate data, interpret reports, evaluate and criticise texts, and bring new insights are necessary. Evidence of sufficient breadth or depth of research methodologies and techniques to work in the research area of chemistry and chemical engineering are also essential.
