Purpose of role:
The purpose of the role is to take responsibility to enhance students’ overall employability experience through providing tailored, professional and diversified employability services such as career education, guidance, advice, training and projects etc. This role will be responsible to manage, supervise and implement the employability development service across the range of its activities to ensure that the department will achieve the target of the university strategic plan and increase satisfaction rate of employability metrics.

- An understanding of key working relationships required with DCL, faculties and T&L etc.
- Have project management knowledge and experience in high education or headhunting areas
- Awareness of current and future activities of the university or career department to use for planning purposes and systems analysis.

Main responsibilities include:
1. Employability Education Service
Design and development with a Long – term Vision to ensure that the content of specific career education, guidance, advice, and projects can effectively improve the employability performance of students.
Develop and establish an appropriate workflow and activity scheduling for students’ employability services in diversified formats, such as career diagnostic services, skill – building workshops, and some specific innovative projects.
Support students to achieve career goals by engaging in in – depth exploration of their career goals and organizing customized career – related activities for specific academic programs
2. Employability project management
Manage a series of employability projects such as Nottingham Advantage Award, career skill workshops, and career advice service and career digital lab etc.
Strengthen the Nottingham Advantage Award Program by coordinating with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including employers, academic staff, and faculties across all campuses. Support the operational management and procedures, such as module promotion, student recruitment, academic moderation, and manage the NAA platform to ensure efficient handling of student inquiries, providing timely and accurate responses.
Expanding the Career Advice Service resource pool by coordinating a more diversified group of industry professional advisors, such as industry experts, human resources (HR) professionals, and career advisors.
Support the organization and management of a variety of employability events. These include mock interviews, skill-building workshops, self-exploration and career planning sessions, Ph.D. application guidance sessions, and civil service examination preparation workshops.
Provide students with a suite of career assessment tools designed to explore their career interests, personalities, and other relevant factors. Employ a range of advanced techniques to analyze and interpret students' career-related data within the career system. Drive the development of the career digital lab by identifying and integrating new career-related AI resources.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
Actively liaise, communicate, and establish solid working relationships with various stakeholders;
Customizing key activities for specific programs by designing and carrying out targeted key activities based on the characteristics of specific programs and the needs of students. These activities aim to help students better understand industry trends, improve their employment skills, and enhance their employability.
4. Continuous Improvement
Content and Procedure Optimization: Regularly review and enhance the content and procedures. Ensure that all information is up-to-date, aligning with the latest market trends, as well as the career development requirements stipulated by the authorities. Moreover, guarantees that these services are accurately and effectively delivered to the targeted student groups. Capability and Expertise Development: Strengthen professional capabilities and expertise in career advice through continuous learning. This involves participating in regular internal training sessions and pursuing external professional qualification courses in fields such as career planning, further study advice, coaching, and mentoring.
The post will be offered on a fixed term outsourced contract for 9 months.
