University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Senior Manager, Alumni Relations
Your Responsibilities
The Senior Manager, Alumni Relations, will work closely with the Director of Development and Alumni Relations and Deputy Director of Alumni Relations, UNNC, to grow alumni, and supporter engagement in support of the University’s strategic objectives. The role will lead efforts to foster lasting relationships with alumni and supporters, ensuring they feel valued and engaged across volunteering, advocacy, and philanthropic opportunities.
The role requires the development, implementation, and monitoring of alumni relations activities that strengthen alumni affinity, build collaborative relationships with alumni network, and empower alumni volunteers as advocates for the University. By creating meaningful connections between alumni and the University, the Senior manager will ensure alumni continue to contribute their support over time, whether through volunteerism, advocacy, or other ways.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Develop, implement, and monitor alumni engagement strategies that align with the University’s strategic objectives.
- Strengthen the University’s global alumni network by fostering connections and managing key alumni relationships.
- Lead the planning and execution of high-impact alumni events, campaigns, and initiatives to drive meaningful engagement.
- Analyze data to identify trends, improve programs, and address challenges, turning insights into actionable strategies.
- Act as a senior advisor to foster collaboration and alignment across cross-functional teams independently.
About You
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification, plus significant experience in a similar or related role.
- Strong understanding of the professional, legal, and regulatory framework relevant to alumni relations work.
- Proven track record of experience in alumni relations, volunteer management, or a closely related field.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to nurture high-value relationships and work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrable expertise in planning and delivering complex engagement initiatives, programs, and events.
- Excellent English and Chinese written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives and deliver impactful presentations.
Desirable
- Advanced degree or industry-recognized certification in alumni relations, higher education management, or a related field.
- Proven experience working in cross-cultural or international contexts, particularly in roles with a global reach.
- Familiarity with the higher education sector and awareness of global trends and best practices in alumni relations.

- Expertise in analytical thinking, with the ability to interpret data and apply insights strategically to improve processes and inform decision-making.
- Experience working with international alumni and managing global engagement initiatives.
- Project management certification or significant experience in delivering large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects.
