Purpose of role:
This role will primarily support the Shanghai Office based International Relations Officers to recruit high-quality Chinese students to the University of Nottingham’s UK Campus, develop and maintain brand awareness with social media marketing, and also support faculties’ online activities.
The role holder will work closely with colleagues in the UK and will report directly to the International Relations Manager, based in Nottingham, UK. The position will involve travel occasionally across China upon request and a flexible approach to working patterns.

Essential
- Skills
- Excellent literacy, presentation and interpersonal skills with evidence of building effective working relationships at all levels and communicating across a wide range of internal and external audiences
- High proficiency in English and Chinese language
- IT skills, highly proficient in the use Microsoft Office
- Highly organised, self-motivated and committed, with the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision and find solutions to complex issues as they arise
- Digital marketing and communications expertise in local Chinese channels such as WeChat, Bilibili and Dou Yin
- Ability to write engaging and well-received WeChat articles
- Knowledge and experience
- Understanding of the UK recruitment practices
- Experience of managing or regularly producing posts for local Chinese social media channels such as WeChat
- Qualifications
- Educated to degree level, 2.1 classification or equivalent
Desirable:

- Numerate with expertise in statistical software
- Design skills for digital campaigns and production of online materials

- Degree or a professional qualification in marketing, design, computer science, cultural or communications studies

Main responsibilities include:
Contribute to social media engagement (25%)
- Support Shanghai Office based International Relations Officers (IROs) with social media follower engagement.
- Assist IROs to develop monthly social media plans.
- Translate or produce content for social media accounts and support IROs with content design.
- Support IROs with Student Ambassadors scheme
Support conversions and lead on post-event enquiries (25%)
- Follow up event enquiries.
- Support conversion activities including but not limited to pre-departure briefings, call campaign, and offer holder chatgroups
- Support IROs to achieve targets towards an effective ROI.
Coordinate online and face-to-face activities for faculties (25%)
- Lead on liaison with faculties to develop a year-long online engagement plan.
- When incoming visits are possible, advise on faculty plans for offline events.
- Organise faculty webinars, briefings, taster lecturers, etc, with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide on-spot assistance to faculty activities.
- Liaison with faculties to timely follow up from each activity.
Other (25%)
- Provide logistical support to IROs.
- Assist with the production of promotional literature in Chinese.
- Sort out freight and expense claims for IROs.
- Support IROs with arrangements for workshops.
- Participate in training and staff development events.
- Maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness.
- Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required. This may include occasional travels and support to Shanghai Office operations.
- Work with colleagues at our campuses in China and Malaysia to support a global recruitment effort and brand footprint.

This is a temporary position that you will be offered a fixed-term contract of up to 6 months, effective from November 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
