University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit an HR Business Partner
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) plays a pivotal role in strengthening the University’s business partnering capability by building trusted, proactive and value-adding relationships with assigned Faculties, Schools and Departments. Working closely with leadership teams, the HRBP acts as a strategic advisor and a bridge between HR and the business, ensuring that HR policies, procedures and practices are well understood, consistently applied, and effectively support business goals.
The role also involves gathering insights and feedback from business units, identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement, and working collaboratively with internal HR teams and relevant professional services departments to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness. Through strong partnership, communication and collaboration, the HRBP contributes to developing an engaged, high-performing and agile workforce aligned with the University’s strategic priorities.
Your Responsibility
You will be expected:
- Develop strong, credible partnerships with leadership teams in assigned Faculties/Schools/Departments to understand their strategic priorities, challenges and workforce needs;
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers, providing professional HR guidance and solutions on all people-related matters;
- Ensure HR policies, procedures and practices are effectively communicated, understood and implemented across the business;
- Support leadership teams in workforce planning, organizational design, and human capital development;
- Facilitate talent acquisition strategies and recruitment planning to ensure timely and effective hiring;
- Support career development, performance management and succession planning initiatives in assigned units;
- Provide structured feedback to internal HR teams to inform the continuous review and improvement of HR policies, guidelines and procedures;
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HR business partner service; contribute to streamlining processes to enhance efficiency and responsiveness;
- Share best practices, support internal communication efforts, and help foster a consistent, transparent and employee-centric HR service culture;
- Lead or contribute to HR and organizational projects that support strategic and operational improvement;
- Partner with business unit leaders to address capability gaps, organizational development and change management initiatives;
About You
- You should have bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Communication, or related discipline;
- You should have extensive HR related experience, including demonstrated success in HR business partnering or advisory roles;
- You should have proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels;
- You should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- You should have management skills and highly skilled in collaboration and coordination – knows how to leverage people resource and how to build, lead, manage and motive a multi-functional team;
