University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Public Relations & News Senior Manager
Your Responsibilities
The role holder will be expected to lead the PR & news strategy, management and execution, to amplify the UNNC brand reputation and social awareness, increase brand image and support marketing promotion in China.
The purpose of the role is to drive branding and marketing of UNNC through media relations management, content production, PR activities and crisis communications.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement PR and media strategies and plans to underpin the university’s strategy and support the fulfilment of business goals.
- Provide leadership, guidance, support and performance evaluations to team members, maximising the output of the team to enhance the university’s reputation and impact.
- Develop linkages and maintain a close relationship with key media stakeholders to position and promote UNNC effectively.
- Oversee content production, including but not limited to opinion editorials/bylines, speeches, press material and digital content, and deploy across multiple channels.
- Create compelling corporate narratives, messaging, and themes to extend the university’s industry thought leadership.
- Manage crisis and emergency communications, responding to sensitive media inquiries in cooperation with key stakeholders to safeguard the university’s reputation.
- Monitor performance and generate actionable insights and reports for senior leaders to inform strategic planning and continuous improvement.
About You
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent International degree in a relevant field such as Marketing, Journalism, or Communication;
- 5+ years’ experience in publicity and public relations;
- Strong leadership, people management, team building, and project management skills;
- Ability to deal with multiple tasks and work under pressure;
- Excellent communication skills at all levels with strong oral and written skills in both Mandarin and English;
- Experience of working in an international setting and/or education organization;
- Sound understanding of the relevant professional, legal and regulatory requirements of publicity and public relations.
Desirable
- Master’s degree;
- Previous international university or company experience;
- Experience and knowledge of Greater China desirable and a strong advantage.
