University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Faculty Administrator (PGCHE) in Faculty Office of Humanities and Social Science.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The purpose of the role is to assist in the development and administration of the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE) programme, a master’s level teaching qualification for staff at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, and activities associated, providing support and advice efficiently and to a high standard.
- Plan and organise own/team activities, and meet deadlines and expectations
- Advise on the development and expansion of PGCHE programme, promote and ensure implementation
- Coordinate relevant School/Faculty projects and activities associated
- Communicate and build working relationships with key contacts from other units, as well as external bodies, and ensure an appropriate flow of information
- Arrange and/or attend meetings, including internal, tri-campus and with external stakeholders, taking minutes and/or actions as appropriate
- Work closely with PGCHE Director and Module Convenors to ensure the delivery of PGCHE programme, including:
- Routine administration: planning timelines, monitoring progress and assessments, alerting on potential risks, and conducting evaluation
- Data maintenance and supply: preparing documents and reports as requested, producing official letters and PGCHE certificates, and maintaining necessary Moodle sites
- Provide logistic support to relevant events, and ensure their smooth running; recommend on the use of equipment, facilities, space and other resources
- Receive and answer relevant queries in a proper manner with accuracy
- Maintain necessary records, e.g. applications, absence and progress, and deal with follow-ups
- Coordinate and review the revision of policies and practices, and ensure implementation of any changes
- Collect information and assist in applications for awards and grants
- Act as an effective deputy in the absence of manager(s), with discretion to make decisions with a short-term impact to provide immediate support and solutions
- Advise on and propose changes in procedures, plans, priorities and office systems to improve operational efficiency and quality of services
- Participate in trainings and staff development activities, as trainer or trainee as appropriate
- Maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness
- Work on rotation and support other PGCHE-related teams where necessary
- Undertake other PGCHE-related tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required

Qualifications
Essential
- Master’s degree
- Fluency in Mandarin and English
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Proven IT skills, including using MS Office applications and database systems
- Analysis & problem solving capability
- Planning and organisational skills, particularly workflow management
- Experience of working/responding independently and dealing with unforeseen problems and circumstances
- Experience of working in a large complex, devolved organisation
- Proven track record of successful project management
- Experience of managing a diverse workload and relationships
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise multiple tasks
Desirable
- Overseas study experience
- Knowledge of university regulations and systems
- Experience of working in an international setting and/or education organisation
