The Department of Mathematical Sciences at University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) seeks to fill three academic positions, one for Assistant Professor (Level 5), one for Associate Professor (Level 6) and one for Full Professor (Level 7).
The Department of Mathematical Sciences currently runs two programmes, which lead successful graduates to University of Nottingham degrees in BSc Honours Mathematics with Applied Mathematics and BSc Honours Statistics. Some of our students spend the last two years of education in Nottingham, UK, but most of them graduate in Ningbo, China. All our teaching is delivered in English, which is the academic working language of the university.
About You
We seek to appoint an articulate teacher, with international experience of teaching in English, as the successful candidate will be expected to lead and deliver lectures and seminars in Mathematics.
The person appointed will be expected to supervise postgraduate research students, to conduct their own research activities and to play a leading role in the research activities of the Department.
For Associate and Full Professor, the positions are open to candidates that are internationally renowned for their research with a strong record of highly regarded publications and attracting research grants. Applicants for Associate Professor are expected to:
- have record of supervision to completion of at least one PhD student
- currently hold an Associate Professor rank or have at least three years of experience at Lecturer/Assistant Professor rank.
Applicants for Full Professor are expected to:
- have record of supervision of completion of at least four PhD students as lead supervisor
- currently hold a Full Professor rank or have at least three years of experience at Reader/Associate Professor rank.
