UNNC is looking for a Senior Mental Health Advisor to join the Health and Wellbeing Centre. The role will provide 1:1 professional mental health support sessions to students with significant mental health difficulties; respond to critical incidents and serve as a point of escalation when there are safety or safeguarding concerns alongside the Director of Wellbeing Services; actively review and evaluate service provision, identify gaps in provision and ensure service delivery pivots to meet the needs of the student population; provide advice and support to university staff, including playing a role in development of staff wellbeing knowledge and skills; ensure the Mental Health Advisor team can access timely clinical advice and support regarding their client caseloads and ensure consistency of practice and ethical and safe delivery of mental health support within a higher education context; contribute to the delivery of a range of psychoeducation workshops and creation, curation, and promotion of self-help resources.

Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Psychology (psychological counselling direction), clinical psychology, social work or other relevant majors. Significant clinical working experience in psychological counselling of mental health, social work or other relevant fields, robust and demonstratable working knowledge of risk assessment and management, safety and safeguarding. Relevant UK, New Zealand, Australian, U.S., Canadian Psychological Qualification are preferable.

Salary will be within the range of RMB 267,233 to RMB 376,021 per annum, depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance). 

The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of 3 years starting August 2025. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
