University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit an Assistant Professor in English Education in School of Education and English.

About the Role

The School of Education and English (EDEN) is now seeking an exceptional scholar to join us as an Assistant Professor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

The School of Education and English (EDEN) is now looking for an ambitious, talented, and experienced academic with a passion for teaching and a well-developed research profile to join its team of scholars in the field of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching, curriculum development and supervision within the MA TESOL programme, as well as providing wider supervision for our growing numbers of EdD/PhD students. The successful candidate will also be expected to take a lead role in collaborative research projects, as well as conducting original research of their own to result in presentations and publications of a high international standing in relevant and recognised areas of language teaching education.

About You

Candidates must have completed a doctoral degree in language education (TESOL) or a closely related field, have recent experience of teaching across a range of MA TESOL modules, and experience of successfully supervising Masters and PhD students. Knowledge of elementary (K-12) education, academic literacy studies, teaching Young Learners, research methods for TESOL, ESP/EAP and language testing and assessment are all highly desirable. The advertised position will be filled at an appropriate point on the Assistant Professor level salary scale based upon prior experience and current academic rank.

Your Remuneration, Benefits and Support
The successful candidate will be offered a fixed-term contract for up to 5 years, which may be extended by mutual agreement. Salary will be within the range of RMB 445,732 to RMB 586,945 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience (salary progression beyond this is subject to performance) and you will have a range of benefits and entitlements, including accommodation allowance, insurances, schooling support, home flight, relocation & repatriation support, and paid annual leave. You may also be offered a range of Chinese talent schemes application opportunities based on individual eligibility at time of application.
