University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Senior Incubator Manager in Research and Knowledge Exchange.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Plan and organize incubator strategy and working plan in line with University campus development plan, and coordinate with related faculty and department for the delivery.     
  • leverage internal and external funding to grow University incubation and entrepreneurship capacity and offering.
  • Design University funding plan and policy for student and staff innovation and entrepreneurship including but not limit to LDS innovation fellowship Scheme, and support, monitor and report the execution and outcome.  
  • Develop and maintain external partnership including investor, government, industry partner, universities and incubator, etc for business cooperation and funding support to develop University entrepreneurship ecosystem. 
  • Support University RKE strategy planning and delivery, especially in IP commercialization.
  • Responsible for the daily operation and delivery of University wide Innovation and Entrepreneurship initiatives, mainly LDS incubator.  Business scope includes but not limited to develop and implement operation policies and procedures, recruit and mentor high potential start-ups, organize entrepreneurial activities and events.
  • Provide and disseminate mentor/incubation service to students, alumni, staff and help their startup grow,
  • Interpret entrepreneurship related policy, legislation, regulations and national codes of practice, and University internal policy and decision to entrepreneurs and incubator tenants, to ensure their compliance.   
  • Design and deliver a series of innovation and entrepreneurship training  sessions/workshops/program to improve students and staff capability in entrepreneurship.   
  • Represent and promote the incubator section at both internal and external meetings/events, influencing differing opinions and handling questions/objections as required, to ensure that departmental/school/work unit issues are appropriately represented.  
  • Revise or develop procedure and policy for approval and contribute to their successful implementation in order to deliver appropriate benefits and ensure external (e.g. regulatory or national codes of practice) requirements are met.  
  • Analyse and interpret data to identify trends/challenges, propose and test solutions, sourcing additional related information where appropriate, and reporting on progress through briefings or formal reports.  
  • Manage incubator operation team with responsibility for the deployment, recruitment, development and performance management of staff to ensure the successful delivery of an administrative service.  

About You

  • You should have at least 5 years of working experience in a role relevant to innovation, entrepreneurship, technology transfer or knowledge exchange.
  • You should have relevant Bachelor’s degree in related fields.
  • You should have detailed knowledge, experiences and understanding of systems/services in relevant areas and their varied applications.
  • You should have authoritative knowledge of the work practices, processes and procedures relevant to the role, including broader sector/commercial awareness.  
  • You should have proven negotiation and influencing skills. 
  • You should have proven change management and project management skills.
  • You should have an understanding of the key working relationships required with staff at all levels across the Department/school/Faculty/University; and working knowledge of the work of others inside and outside the University relevant to own field of work.
