University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Incubator Manager in Research and Knowledge Exchange Office.

The Li Dak Sum Incubator at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), launched in September 2017, serves as the University’s central hub for innovation and entrepreneurship practice. Working with faculties and partners, it provides full life-cycle support to entrepreneurs—from idea generation and project development to incubation and acceleration—while connecting international talent and business resources  to address local needs. As a university-level platform, it bridges a globally engaged ecosystem with concrete local opportunities to deliver tangible impact.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and deliver quality incubation service to help enterprise grow and to promote innovation and entrepreneurship both internally with students, staff and alumni and externally with investors, funders and global entrepreneurs to contribute to the development and delivery of UNNC overall innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem and building a professional incubator with international recognition.

Candidates must have a Bachelor degree and preferably a master degree in business, finance, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, and excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Experience in entrepreneurial practice or incubation and professional qualification in business incubation operation are necessary.

Your Responsibility

Your key responsibilities include:

  • To develop and implement university level entrepreneurial activities in line with university strategy and Campus Development Plan.
  • To develop and organize innovation funding schemes, programmes, practical events and activities in UNNC by coordinating with internal faculty and professional teams and external mentors and partners.
  • To develop and deliver quality incubation service to help enterprise grow, including but not limit to financing, business planning, teaming, etc.
  • To design feasible funding scheme and engagement plan to motivate students and staff according to education foundation’s requirement and donor’s expectation;
  • To develop, maintain and grow external partnerships with enterprises, investors, funders, science parks locally, nationally and internationally to support the delivery of high quality and unique entrepreneurial education and build active entrepreneurship ecosystem and community.
  • Provide professional incubation advice and recommendations to support enterprise development;
  • Provide project development, application and implementation advice to enterprising staff and students to nurture
  • Build up innovation and entrepreneurship mentorship capacity by establishing mentors bank, partnership and regular programs.
  • Provide mentorship to student inquiries on startup.
  • To keep up with the global development trends, key challenges and new opportunities and provide analysis to inform action plans to maintain UNNC’s unique position in the sector
  • To keep good record of university innovation and entrepreneurial deliverables and impact, and build a database on student entrepreneurship, external investors, alumni enterprenuers and incubator tenants for regular report to committee, government, shareholders, donors, and funders;  

About You

  • You should have 3-year working experience in entrepreneurial practice or incubation.
  • You should have proven project management experiences to ensure projects are implemented based on agreed budget, deadline and deliverables
  • You should have experience in fund applications, project implementation, analysis and reporting
  • You should have bachelor’s degree in business, finance, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, etc. 
  • You should have acuity on innovation and entrepreneurial knowledge and information, and related education resources.  
  • You should have fluency in Chinese and English, both written and spoken;
  • You should have good communicator with ability to influence and persuade across different levels of the organisation to influence investors, partners and policy-makers;
  • You should have evidence of well-developed interpersonal skills and networking skills;
  • You should have the ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards
  • You should have good organizational skills to develop and deliver events and facilitate work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment;
  • You should have project management skills

This is a post that you will be offered a fixed-term contract of 3 year with a probation of 6 month with effect from November 2025 or as soon as thereafter.
