University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Senior Manager, CeDEx Laboratory
Purpose of role
CeDEx China is a premier research hub that conducts state-of-the-art research in Behavioural Economics, Experimental Economics, Decision Theory, Game theory, Economic Psychology and related areas. It is part of the Centre for Decision Research and Experimental Economics (CeDEx), a world-leading research group based within the School of Economics at the University of Nottingham (UK) (ranked second in Europe and fifth in the world for experimental economics. The lab serves as a vital bridge between theoretical economic inquiry and real-world application in one of the world's most dynamic economies.
The role holder will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the laboratory and its associated resources, the management and running of experiments on behalf of CeDEx members and the management of a web-based volunteer registration system: the Online Recruitment System for Economic Experiments (ORSEE). The role holder will also l be responsible for writing zTree or oTree managing implementation of some experiments including those using participants drawn from the Amazon online platform MTurk and those for externally contracted usage
While the primary job tasks revolve around managing the laboratory and related activities, early-career researchers, with interest in the field of behavioral economics, are strongly encouraged to apply.
About You
The successful candidate will be expected to ensure the efficient operation of the CeDEx laboratory and associated resources including a web-based volunteer registration system: the Online Recruitment System for Economic Experiments (ORSEE).
In addition to ensuring the day-to-day operation of the lab systems, the role holder will also contribute to the broader strategic and operational management for our centre with specific responsibilities. The role holder will also provide leadership in developing external (hired) use of the lab through promotional activity, liaison with external users (to provide, for example, technical advice and costings). The role holder will be responsible for managing implementation of some experiments including those using participants drawn from the Amazon online platform MTurk and those for externally contracted usage. More broadly, the role holder will also support our internal and external seminar series, and larger workshops and conferences hosted by CeDEx.
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in economics, business, or related quantitative disciplines (preferably a Master's degree (or above) in any of those disciplines) and with excellent communication and presentation skills in English. It is also desirable that the candidate has some prior work experience in experimental economics labs.

Your Remuneration, Benefits and Support
Salary will be within the range of RMB 269,906 to RMB 379,782 per annum depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance).
The post will initially be offered on a fixed term outsourced contract for a period of 3 years.
