University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit an Administration Manager in Sport Department
The University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking a proactive and organised Administration Manager (PE) to lead the delivery of our Physical Education programme during a staff member’s maternity leave. This role oversees the day-to-day coordination of PE activities, ensures high-quality programme delivery, and provides effective management and guidance to our PE teaching team. You will work closely with the Sport Department to support timetabling, programme planning, staffing, communications, and operational delivery across a diverse range of activities.
We are looking for someone who is detail-driven, adaptable, and confident working in a dynamic, student-focused environment. Strong communication skills and experience in programme or staff management are essential.

Your Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the PE programme in terms of student enrolment, class allocation and casual teacher recruitment and training;
- Lead on assigned departmental projects and events, both individually and as part of a project team, to improve sports service provision;
- Present own and sub-team's work activities to internal or external meetings as required to ensure that relevant issues are appropriately represented;
- Act as the key liaison and support between the Deputy Director of Sports & PE and the PE team;
- Manage all admin processes relating to the student Excel teams, including medical submissions and insurance policies, and support PE staff with competition coordination;
- Provide professional advice and recommendations within a policy framework and professional guidelines to support informed decision making, in order to develop and progress the sports department;
- Explain and develop an understanding of legal/regulatory/procedural information or other complex issues/solutions to students and staff of the sports centre;
- Analyse, interpret and translate management data and information and assist in the production of management reports;
- Recruiting, monitoring and supporting the development of team members to ensure that individual contributions are maximized.
About You
Essential
- Degree qualified in administration, finance or management and relevant formal training;
- Working in a Sport/PE background;
- Proven analytical and problem-solving capability and able to apply initiative;
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent translation skills;
- Proven planning and organising skills;
- Ability to work as an individual and as a team, across a diverse group of colleagues;
- Creativity. with the ability to general ideas to shape the future direction of university sport provision and process;
- Excellent IT skills;
- Proven track record of customer service skills.
