University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Faculty Administrator in Faculty Office of Humanities and Social Science.
Qualifications
Essential
- Master’s degree
- Fluency in Mandarin and English
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Proven IT skills, including using MS Office applications and database systems
- Analysis & problem solving capability
- Planning and organisational skills, particularly workflow management
- Experience of working/responding independently and dealing with unforeseen problems and circumstances
- Experience of working in a large complex, devolved organisation
- Experience of managing a diverse workload and relationships
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise multiple tasks
Desirable
- Overseas study experience
- Knowledge of university regulations and systems
- Experience of working in an international setting and/or education organisation
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To receive and answer relevant queries from students and staff in a proper manner with accuracy
- To plan and organise individual and team activities, ensuring deadlines and expectations are met
- To support the Exam Officer in processing assessment-related tasks, including the scheduling of all assessment activity timelines, processing students’ marks, providing progression recommendations and degree awards, as well as handling complaints and appeals related to assessment results
- To liaise with UNUK and external examiners to ensure quality assurance procedures are upheld
- To prepare exam board reports, organise internal and external exam boards, and record meeting minutes
- To assist in the collection of exam papers and the preparation of exam packages prior to the examination period, and provide necessary support during the examinations
- To organise and process students’ requests for assessment feedback
- To gather information and provide assistance with staff prize and award applications
- To communicate effectively and establish working relationships with key contacts from other units and external bodies, ensuring the appropriate flow of information
- To organise School staff meetings and related committee meetings at all levels, record minutes, and implement necessary actions
- To advise on and recommend changes to procedures, plans, priorities, and office systems in order to enhance operational efficiency and service quality
- To participate in training and staff development activities, either as a trainer or as a trainee, as appropriate
- To develop and foster relevant expertise and awareness
- To analyse and provide data or statistics upon request, identifying and highlighting issues requiring further investigation to support informed decision‑making
- To maintain accurate archiving and documentation of all assessment data
- To participate in rotational duties and provide support to other teams when necessary
- To undertake other tasks and responsibilities as reasonably required
