UNNC is looking for a University Counsellor to join the Health and Wellbeing Centre. The role will provide one to one counselling/psychotherapy, both short and long term, to students and staff at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China; Offer initial assessment appointments to determine client allocation, and to formulate and deliver appropriate interventions; Conduct and record formal risk assessments and safety planning in a manner that is also therapeutic for the client. Contribute to mental health promotion responsibilities, including developing and delivering related resources and activities, collaborating with the Health Promotion Team on joint mental health campaigns.

Candidates must have a minimum of master’s level qualification in counselling/psychotherapy/counselling psychology; Professional accreditation/registration/licensure in country of qualification or practice; Have experience of short- and long- term counselling/psychotherapy interventions; Have experience of clinical work in different settings.

Salary will be within the range of RMB 353,847 to RMB 482,256 per annum, depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance). 

The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of 1 year starting August 2026. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
