University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Senior Manager of Student Admissions
Your Responsibilities
The Senior Manager of Student Admissions is a key role in designing, implementing and maintaining innovative initiatives to improve the applicant experience and for staff involved in the admissions process. The role holder will be responsible for developing the improved digitalization of operational processes and the effectiveness of UNNC’s use of applicant data. The role will need to have specialist knowledge of recruitment and admissions policy and procedure. The postholder will liaise regularly and confidently with academic and administrative colleagues at all levels of the University about matters concerning recruitment and admissions policy and procedure.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Identify and integrate innovative solutions and digital infrastructure to enhance the efficiency of recruitment and admissions operations;
- Define, implement, monitor, and continuously improve standard operating procedures to optimize the applicant and student experience, and overall performance of admissions;
- Lead the sourcing, implementation and continuous improvement of digital tools to drive operational improvements;
- Oversee and streamline the Admissions process for both domestic postgraduate and international students, ensuring full compliance with university policies, legal requirements, and academic standards;
- Supervise the review, shortlisting, and evaluation of applications, ensuring fairness, consistency, and alignment with the university’s academic and diversity objectives;
- Develop and implement a comprehensive student Admissions plan that aligns with UNNC’s strategic goals;
- Collaborate with the Postgraduate and International Recruitment teams to co-develop and align annual recruitment and admissions strategies with the university’s priorities, including diversity goals, scholarships and any enrollment quotas;
- Lead and manage the Admissions team, ensuring effective execution of recruitment and selection processes. Provide ongoing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to foster a culture of equity and transparency.
About You
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline;
- At least 5 years’ experience in student recruitment and Admissions within the Higher Education Sector;
- Proven ability to effectively manage staff from a range of backgrounds who are required to deliver high quality, professional, and timely services;
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills, including skills in project planning, management and evaluation;
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Mandarin and strong interpersonal skills;
- Sound understanding of recruitment and Admissions related policy and regulation.

This is a regular post that you will be offered a fixed term contract initially of 3 years with a probation of 6 months with University of Nottingham Ningbo China.
