University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit an HR Officer/Assistant, HR Business Partner Team

The HR Officer/Assistant provides operational and administrative support across the full recruitment lifecycle and visa service process for assigned faculties, schools and departments, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, professionally and in compliance with University policies and relevant Chinese regulatory requirements. The HR Officer/Assistant also contributes to HR projects and service improvement initiatives, including process optimisation, digital workflow enhancement, data analysis and implementation support.

In addition, the HR Officer/Assistant supports the Talent Scheme Senior Manager in the planning, coordination and administration of talent scheme applications, working closely with applicants, internal stakeholders, external experts and relevant authorities to ensure timely and high-quality submissions. The role will also support the effective administration and compliance management of postdoctoral research fellows and related research station operations.

The appointment level will be determined based on the successful applicant’s qualifications, skills and relevant experience.

Your Responsibility

You will be expected:

  • Execute operational activities across the full recruitment lifecycle for assigned positions, including job posting, candidate sourcing and screening coordination, interview arrangement, offer administration and onboarding support.
  • Support work visa and employment-related administration for international staff, including documentation, application coordination, progress tracking and record maintenance.
  • Prepare recruitment and visa-related data, reports and basic metrics to support operational monitoring and service improvement.
  • Support the planning, coordination and implementation of talent scheme work plans and application processes, maintaining accurate records, and preparing data and reports as required and liaise with applicants, internal stakeholders, external experts/vendors and relevant authorities to support timely and high-quality submissions.
  • Support the administration and operation of postdoctoral research stations at UNNC and its subsidiaries, including recruitment coordination, records management, compliance follow-up and reporting.  
  • Support HR service improvement initiatives, including process review, SOP enhancement, workflow optimisation and HR system-related activities.
  • Prepare project updates, action trackers, data summaries and basic analysis to support project monitoring and decision-making.
  • Monitor relevant policy, regulatory and operational updates, and support HR training, workshops, information sessions and other HR operational activities as required.

About You

  • You should have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Education, Management or other relevant disciplines.
  • You should have relevant experience in administration, HR operations, recruitment coordination, visa/employment administration, project coordination or other professional service support.
  • You should have strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, follow up on deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
  • You should have good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You should have good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle operational issues in a structured and professional manner;
