University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit an Employment Services Officer, HR Operations team in Human Resources Office

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the full employment contract lifecycle, including preparation, issuance, amendments and renewals, ensuring accuracy, compliance and a seamless experience for staff.
  • Administer staff benefits, allowances and employment-related payments, including enrolment, claims processing, record maintenance, staff communications and payment processing, ensuring entitlements are delivered accurately, on time and in compliance with relevant requirements.
  • Support and enhance the overall employee experience by managing HR service channels, handling employment enquiries, supporting talent subsidy applications, and delivering staff information sessions where required.
  • Manage employee exit processes, including offboarding administration, exit documentation and exit interviews where required, ensuring a smooth and professional offboarding experience.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with government authorities, regulatory bodies and external service providers, ensuring vendor performance meets agreed standards and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate across HR teams and with internal and external stakeholders to ensure joined-up, high-quality service delivery, while identifying opportunities to improve employment services, staff experience, processes, SOPs and service documentation in response to operational needs and legislative or regulatory changes.
  • Maintain accurate employment data and records, conduct analysis, and produce reports and management information to support informed decision-making and external compliance requirements.
  • Provide guidance, work review and coaching to junior team members where applicable, supporting consistent service standards and capability development within the team.
  • Take on additional HR projects and responsibilities as assigned, contributing flexibly to the broader goals of the HR function.

About You

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree or above in HR, Business, Communication or a related discipline, with a minimum of three years’ relevant HR operational experience and good knowledge of employment legislation, labour regulations, staff benefits administration and HR operational practices.
  • You are highly organised, detail-oriented and analytical, with strong planning, time management, data analysis and reporting skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities without compromising accuracy.
  • You communicate with confidence and clarity in both Chinese and English, with strong verbal, written and presentation skills to engage effectively with staff, managers, vendors, government authorities and other stakeholders.
  • You bring a service-oriented mindset and a strong commitment to staff experience, with the interpersonal skills to build trust and maintain effective working relationships across teams.
  • You are proactive, adaptable and resilient, with the ability to balance day-to-day operational delivery with longer-term service improvement initiatives.
  • You act with integrity and discretion, handling confidential and sensitive information with a high level of professionalism.
  • Experience in process improvement, vendor management, HR systems or providing guidance to junior staff would be a strong advantage.
  • A master’s degree, professional HR certification, overseas study experience, or prior experience in international organisations, Sino-foreign joint ventures or higher education institutions would be advantageous.
